Nottingham based quartet. These bust out the post hardcore jams, energetic and angular with shouty vocals, ok so not any untrodden ground here but all nicely executed none the less. Capillaries

Odd Dates - Get Even
This is the first release for this two piece from the Grand Rapids, though readers of the blog may recall Drawing Moutains and that these guys were part of them. They are kicking out a fairly different sound from the Drawing Mountains days, still keeping up the mathy elements of the music though replacing the indie sound and progressive rock elements for more of a punk/hardcore/math type angle. I liked Drawing Mountains and I like what these guys have done from the more punk angle and with the added injection of energy. They have this up on their bandcamp for the name the price well worth checking out. Get Even

Camafeo - Onyria
This band come from Argentina, the music they play is progressive rock mixed in with a fair amount of hardcore. The only downside to this record to me is the extensive interludes, there are too many, however when they are on track they are very good, dark, twisting, intricate, melodic and chaotic. Anyways fifteen tracks for name your price on bandcamp, gotta be worth a look right? Onyria.

BBAATBIFFFS - Drink Fight Drive
A two piece consisting of bass and drums from Chicago. What I hear here is math rock meets noise rock and hardcore, you could probably apply more tags such as metal or grindcore if you wanted.. Doesn't matter I guess, what does is that these guys rock and that they do. The pair dropped this on bandcamp yesterday for the price you wanna pay, oh yay. Drink Fight Drive.

Grown By Earth - Havens
So these guys recently released their debut EP, on the 16th of August. A three piece playing some pretty rocking hardcore from Lund in Sweden. I particularly like the fourth track "misguided" anyways they have this up on their bandcamp for free download, definitely worth checking out. Link to the bandcamp.

Ironhide - Create/Collapse/Repeat
Right so another cool band from Brisbane. This came out back in April of 2011 and these guys are basically progressive tech-metal that mixes up elements of hardcore, mathcore, metalcore and some post-rock elements and do it well it all works nicely. Was reading up a bit on these guys and it sounds like they were ripped of buy some douche bag from their old record label who basically took the money from the pre-orders for their album and vanished so not cool, big respect to them though they still have this up for name your price on bandcamp cool guys. I would definitely go support them if you can after that tho nasty stuff! plus this is good. Bandcamp.

Rolo Tomassi - Eternal Youth
To continue with the insane tech stuff one of my personal favourite bands woo! They recently announced a new album coming out this year, very exciting so yeah rolo post time. So this is a twin cd set or three Lp set and basically a collection of works by the band stuff from early releases rare stuff odd bits and remixes being the second part. This collection basically for me holds all of my favourite tunes by them and is sweeet, OK so some of the remixes aren't my thing but some of them are awesome good, I actually prefer the material on this to the stuff on their albums but that may just be me. Anyways for me defo one of the best bands to come out the UK since like ever plus Eva is hot (photo lol) I definitely need to go seem these again soon.. Right I'm rambling err yeah go check them and this if you haven't already.. we'll put this under the tags prog rock hardcore I think, heard people say mathcore but yeah no haha. Link to this here.

Chronicles Of Adam West - We Walk Unbalanced
OK so this isn't new, but I was listening to this again today and I had forgoten just how good it was. So five dudes from Reading UK and if remember correctly they used to describe themselves as hardcore kids gone tech and I'd go with that. Unfortunately they didn't last long and only released this and a demo as far as I know. So heard these guys described as Dillinger Escape esc a lot.. Well I dunno maybe kinda but not really and I wouldn't really peg this as mathcore maybe just me. I'd definitely go with hardcore gone tech, blisteringly fast chaotic hardcore maybe with grindcore styled guitar leads, sounds good doesn't it? Just love the guitars on this some of them just sound twisting they sound like the music is collapsing on itself great stuff, some great musical breakdowns in there too and some nice interludes of quieter melodic parts to let you mind recover for a few seconds. This still sounds new to me even though it's getting on for five years old now. I do believe that one of the guys is still playing in the band Antares (the ones on holy roar not the gash ones!) who are also good might put something up on them sometime.. I would put up a download link for this but you can get it for like 2 quid from Holy Roar and you can check out the tunes there first too so it just seem wrong. Link here, shame the actual physical has sold out, though I do have it lucky me anyway definitely worth checking out if you haven't. I kick myself for not seeing them when they were about!!

Aminals - The Weird Horror Of Social Relevance
Right so this little two track was released back in March this year and is good stuff if you like stuff rocking and heavy, I do.. Love the breakdowns these guys do seriously rocking shit. So these guys come from over the pond in New England and go under the tags of Death Metal, Hardcore, Metal, Punk Experimental on their bandcamp I'd go for Hardcore punk but hey who cares. They Kinda remind me of Refused in some ways which is a good thing in my book. They used to go under the name Atomic Ballroom calamity and they were good then too.. They have all their stuff up for free download on their bandcamp which is nice of them! Really looking forward to hearing a full length under the Aminals name. Anyway check out this two track here.
